This symposium will provide an overview of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) describing the subtypes of JIA, current state of the art treatment plans, and the challenges children and their families face adapting to the chronic illness. Physical assessment parameters seen in the chronic illness will be described along with a discussion of pain management and family-centered care.
